Its funny how technology can shift our relationships in unexpected ways. Recently, a friend of mine shared something that got me thinking. She mentioned how her 27-year old daughter has started turning to Chat GPT for advice, sharing her troubles and seeking answers for almost everything. This is the same girl who used to come to her mom for just about everything. From picking the perfect dress for homecoming to navigating life's small hiccups. Now, instead of chatting with her mom, she's typing away on her phone letting AI take the wheel. This made my friend very sad, lonely and somewhat distant from her daughter. Its a sentiment that many parents might relate to in this digital age.

When I was growing up I mostly got advice from my parents, teachers or someone older, because they have more life experiences. But what lived experience does chat gpt have? Just three years of data?

• Find a Real Mentor: Look for someone you trust, like a parent, sibling, or friend, who will always support you and offers honest advice no matter what.

AI may grow smarter, faster, and more helpful, but it will never miss us, it will never feel the quiet absence of a conversation that no longer happens. That’s something only humans feel, and perhaps that’s our reminder to keep choosing each other.
